| Strategic Objectives
A major driver for business growth in Thurrock is its location on the Thames and a crossing point with the M25 London orbital motorway. In addition the London Southend Tilbury rail line connects the Borough to Fenchurch Street in some 35 minutes. Access to City airport via the improved A13 radial route is excellent as is accessibility to Stansted airport via the M25 and M11 and Gatwick.
This excellent location results in Thurrock being one of the most significant logistics centres in Britain. Deep-water berths at the Port of Tilbury and the Purfleet Thames Terminal make the Borough one of the most important water freight centres in the country.
